About the event

This is a 90 minute workshop that will take an in depth look into the roots and history of Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Have you ever asked what is Qi? What is the difference between Tai Chi and Qi Gong?  How does Qi relate to the body? How can I use Qi to optimize my health and well being? How does Yin Yang relate to Tai Chi? By the end of this seminar you will know. Having a Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice is a wonderful way to relieve stress by quieting the mind, strengthening the body and harmonizing the breathe. You will learn a Qi Gong practice that will include both seated and standing meditation. You will learn the Ba Duan Jin also called the 8 silk brocades which is a simple yet powerful Qi Gong practice along with movements from the Yang style Tai Chi form. This Is a low impact practice that involves slow movements and breathe work. Please wear comfortable clothing. At the end of the seminar we will have plenty of time for any final questions. Bringing a note book is suggested. No prior experience required. Not ADA compliant. $45 per person. Only 6 spots available

Sensei Zack received his black belt from Sensei Mark Spear, the owner of Black Bear Traditional Martial Arts Center, which is the region’s foremost center for the practice of traditional Okinawan martial arts and culture, serving Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut since 2008.

With direct ties to Japan and Okinawa, we offer instruction of the highest quality in authentic martial traditions, most of which cannot be found anywhere else in our region. Sensei Zack brings an incredible depth of experience in the martial arts. Emphasizing the highest standards of practice and traditional martial arts virtues, our dojo is an exemplary representative of what has unfortunately become a rarity: a dojo that offers true martial arts taught with compassion, dignity and unmatched precision.
